Job summary

St. Pius X Catholic School in San Antonio seeks a substitute teacher for its Child Development Center. Substitutes must meet Texas state guidelines for childcare workers and support a Catholic education aligned with the Archdiocese’s mission.

Responsibilities include reinforcing lesson plans, supervising students, and upholding safety and confidentiality. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1 year substitute/teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of substitute or teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Supports and adheres to Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and policies.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students in cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or before/after school programs.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
• Uses approved discipline procedures and promotes collaboration and mission.
• Adheres to safety training and protects confidentiality of information.
