Job summary

Holy Family Catholic School in Austin, TX is seeking a Student Reading Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. The specialist will support targeted students identified by the Student Success Team and collaborate with faculty and administration to provide reading interventions within the school’s Catholic mission.

The role reports to the principal and requires adherence to Diocesan policies, EIM compliance, and ongoing professional development as part of the school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited university.
• Licensed reading therapist (C.A.L.T., W.D.T., etc.) or licensed reading practitioner (C.A.L.P., W.D.P., etc.) preferred.
• At least three years teaching experience preferred.
• Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.
• Submit Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) application within the first week of employment; participate in EIM abuse prevention training within 60 days; maintain EIM compliance during employment.
• Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
• Must complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of hire, completing a minimum of 25 hours per year.
