Our Mother of Perpetual Help School in Ephrata, PA, seeks an Elementary School Substitute Teacher on an as-needed basis. The role involves filling in for teachers, delivering basic academic and social instruction, and upholding Catholic values in daily classroom activities.

You may teach elementary students, follow lesson plans, assess progress, and support a balanced program of instruction while preparing students for future grades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required or preferred.
• PA State clearance requirements apply; Catholic instruction adherence preferred if teaching religion.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teacher absences and teach elementary students per curriculum.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules and behavior expectations.
• Observe, evaluate, and report student progress and health as appropriate.
• Follow lesson plans and adapt materials to student needs.
• Lead activities to support academic, social, and spiritual development.
• Prepare students for Mass and sacramental preparation as applicable.
• Administer tests and assignments and maintain classroom records.
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in professional development.
