Diocese of Harrisburg's St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Gettysburg, PA seeks an Elementary School Substitute Teacher to fill in for teacher absences and deliver basic academic, social, and Gospel-based instruction within a Catholic school setting.

The position is available on a part-time or full-time basis as needed, reporting to the Principal. Responsibilities include classroom management, assessment, and collaboration with staff to support student learning and faith formation.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in education or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce behavior rules and procedures for students.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and well-being.
• Follow the teacher's instructions or lesson plan.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Administer tests and assignments to evaluate progress.
• Lead activities promoting physical, mental, and social development.
• Prepare and supervise students for Mass and sacramental preparation.
