Job summary

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School, part of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, seeks a dedicated 4th Grade Teacher to foster a love of learning and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Opened in fall 2025 with PK3-6th grade; plans expansion to 7th grade and more sections this coming year.

The teacher will report to the principal and uphold school and Archdiocese policies, while maintaining student and parent contact and a strong Catholic witness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years teaching experience preferred.
• 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid state certificate.
• Technology proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use for educational purposes.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned subject area(s).
• Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
• Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.

Responsibilities

• Upholds the philosophy of Catholic classical education and the school mission.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values in the classroom and school community.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters and student information.
• Creates safe learning environments and follows safety protocols.
• Plans lessons aligned with Catholic classical curriculum and TEA guidelines.
• Collaborates with faculty to set instructional goals and accommodations.
• Assists in selecting instructional materials and supervising aides as needed.
• Communicates with parents and staff to support student growth.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
