Job description

Overview

Assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, cardiac device implantations, and peripheral vascular procedures, including interventional radiology and hybrid OR procedures. Monitors patient vital signs and hemodynamics during procedures and performs hemodynamic calculations when necessary. Documents pertinent procedure details, evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans, and other data using appropriate formats and systems.

Position Available:

Per Diem - On Call, As Needed

10-hour Day Shifts

*Call Required

Shift Differentials Available: $2.00/hr. Weekend - $2.50/hr. Evening - $3.50/hr. Night

Responsibilities

  1. Performs radiographic diagnostic/interventional special procedures by following and verifying referring providers' orders, using independent judgment and established methodologies.
  2. Educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatments to be performed, demonstrating professional behavior and fostering teamwork.
  3. Produces high-quality images by adjusting radiation parameters and prepares them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
  4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures according to established policies.
  5. Performs equipment quality control measurements and troubleshoots issues to maintain equipment performance.
  6. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors, adhering to radiation safety policies.
  7. Accountable for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice, including confidentiality.
  8. Ensures efficient workflow in the department and maintains adequate inventory of supplies.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards, providing excellent service to all customers.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  2. Must possess a certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited program in Radiologic Technology (RT), Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), or Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
  3. National Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
  4. At least one (1) year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience is required.
  5. BLS and ALS certifications required.
  6. Effective communication and human relations skills, with the ability to analyze data and solve problems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred certification.
  2. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
