Job description

Overview

Assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, cardiac device implantations, and peripheral vascular procedures. Monitors patient vital signs and hemodynamics during procedures and performs hemodynamic calculations when necessary. Documents pertinent procedure details as well as evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans, and other data using appropriate formats and systems.

Position Available: Per Diem - On Call, As Needed, 10 hour Day Shifts.

*Call Required

Shift Differentials Available: $2.00/hr. Weekend, $2.50/hr. Evening, $3.50/hr. Night.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs radiographic diagnostic/interventional special procedures by following and verifying referring providers’ orders.
  2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
  3. Produces high-quality images by panning the table for cases and adjusting radiation parameters.
  4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures.
  5. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
  6. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
  7. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice.
  8. Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

Qualifications
  1. High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  2. Must possess a certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited program in Radiologic Technology (RT), Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), or Invasive Specialist program (RCIS).
  3. National Certification American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
  4. At least one (1) year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
  5. BLS and ALS required.
  6. Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred certification.
  2. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
