Responsibilities
- Operates the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures.
- Operates physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms.
- Operates manifold, power injector, and support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, transport monitors).
- Develops cines when necessary according to policy.
- Able to recognize basic equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot equipment in room; reports malfunctions to Biomed promptly if unable to resolve.
- Exhibits a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases, interprets data gathered during procedures, and recognizes potential implications for patient care or complications.
- Helps to efficiently run the schedule by maintaining a smooth and steady workflow, working independently, communicating with staff and schedule coordinators to maximize department productivity, and performing other duties to enhance patient care and efficiency.
- Anticipates physician needs by understanding procedures performed and equipment necessary, sets up sterile trays, assists physicians during procedures using septic technique, and maintains appropriate medication and supply levels.
- Scrub assists for AAA, TAVR, and complex endovascular procedures, and performs radiographic/digital imaging techniques for RTRs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
