Huntsville Memorial Hospital is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to support procedures and patient care in the heart and vascular team. Responsibilities include IV placement, chart review for consents and labs, and post-procedure monitoring, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Education: vocational nursing or radiologic technology program completed.
• Experience: none required; 1 year in Cardiac/Peripheral Interventions, Radiology, or related area preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Texas Radiology Technologist license; LVN with RCIS considered; BLS within 60 days; ACLS within 90 days.

Overview

Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Cath Lab Technologist assists in procedures, prepares patients for procedures (IV placement, blood collection, and site preparation), reviews patient chart to ensure consents and appropriate labs are in place, and monitors patients post-procedure (site management, vital sign and telemetry monitoring). The Cath Lab Technologist will ensure high quality, effective patient care, while working collaboratively to integrate the goals of the HVC with Huntsville Memorial Hospital. The Cath Lab Technologist functions as a member of the heart and vascular team; possesses skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the patient population.

Collaborate with the heart and vascular team to deliver high-quality patient care and meet hospital goals.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a school of vocational nursing or a medical radiologic technology program.
• Experience: None required. One year of clinical experience in Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular Interventions, Radiology, or related specialty preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Radiology Technologist in the State of Texas. Will consider an LVN with RCIS. Basic Life Support certification required within 60 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
