Job summary

Required credentials include BLS/ACLS, RCES or ARRT certification, and 4+ years in Cath/IR with scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee testing and therapeutics in the Cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and SBAR hand-offs among staff.
• Assist patients through all phases of procedures including transport, prep, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
• Demonstrate flexibility and composure in stressful situations.
• Provide orientation to team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and oversee all testing and therapeutics within the Cath lab, encompassing cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures (e.g., LAAC, TAVR).
• Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Utilize the appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
• Assist patients through all aspects of procedures, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedures, patient monitoring, hemostasis post-catheter/sheath removal, and facilitate the return to the patient's room. Manage emergent cases.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. Complete all paperwork associated with procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
• Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to function well under stressful situations.
• Collaborate with fellow team members and provide orientation as needed.

Qualifications:

• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire.
• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Registered Radiographer (ARRT).

Additional Requirements:

• Must have experience – ARRT/RCIS cert preferred.
• Open to reviewing CVOR/CST with strong Vascular/IR exp.
• Experience in Scrubbing, Monitoring, and Circulating required.
• 4 years of Cath/IR experience strongly preferred.
• No mapping experience needed (performed by a third-party company).
