The role requires on-call duties and weekend shifts, with flexibility for a demanding schedule and strong procedural skills. Relevant licenses and certifications must be active.

Qualificações

• Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings.
• Active ACLS, BLS, ARRT, RCIS certifications.
• Proficient in cardiac cath lab procedures including implant closure devices, stent placement, PCI and related techniques.
• Strong sterile technique and infection control knowledge.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records and documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures (left/right heart cath, PCI, PTCA, rotablator athrectomy).
• Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for cath lab procedures.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control policies.
• Assist with implant closure device placement, stent placement, and IABP placement/removal.
• Document procedures and patient data in Cerner EMR.
• Participate in on-call rotations and weekend shifts as required.
• Follow hospital policies to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Job Summary:

The Radiology / Cardiology Cath Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in an acute care hospital setting. This role requires expertise in cardiac implant closure devices, stent placement, and other specialized cath lab techniques. The technician will ensure proper equipment setup, maintain sterile technique, monitor patients for dysrhythmias, and collaborate closely with the clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care. The position includes on-call duties and weekend shifts, demanding flexibility and strong procedural skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, and rotablader athrectomy.
• Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for cardiac cath lab procedures.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias during procedures.
• Apply sterile technique and adhere to isolation precautions to maintain infection control.
• Assist with cardiac implant closure device placement, stent placement, and IABP placement/removal.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide patient care.
• Document procedures and patient data accurately using Cerner electronic medical records.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide coverage as needed.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings.
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT, RCIS.
• Proficient in cardiac cath lab procedures: cardiac implant closure device, stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, PCI, PTCA, rotablader athrectomy.
• Strong skills in equipment setup and sterile technique.
• Experience with infection control including isolation precautions.
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Must have active and valid license applicable to the role.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a Magnet hospital or Level I trauma center environment.
• Previous experience with scrub procedures and adult patient populations, specifically middle and older adults.
• Experience in acute care hospital settings.

Special Considerations:

• On-call duty required with rotating schedule alongside staff and agency clinicians.
• Weekend shifts required, typically 2-3 weekends per contract.
• Must be able to work 3 twelve-hour day shifts (06:30 to 19:00).
• Candidate must be local or within commuting distance; no radius restrictions.
• Return-to-office restrictions ideally no more than 5 days.
• Parking permit required; no cost for parking.
• Guaranteed hours subject to client call-off policies with potential for on-call shifts counting as call-offs.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week from 06:30 to 19:00.
• Schedule may include 2-3 weekends per contract.
• On-call shifts are assigned on a rotating basis with staff and agency clinicians.
• Block schedule accommodations may be discussed with management.
