St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Cath Lab/IR Tech to assist physicians in interventional cardiovascular and radiologic procedures, performing imaging with angiography and fluoroscopy, and ensuring patient care quality.

The role requires independence and collaboration within a high-volume cardio lab. The position offers a full-time day shift (40 hours/week) with on-call duties; on-call typically one day per week and one weekend every five weeks.

Qualifications

• RCIS or ARRT credential required.
• Dysrhythmia course to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year Cath Lab/IR/EP experience preferred.
• On-call availability as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in interventional cardiovascular/radiologic procedures for adults.
• Produce quality diagnostic images with proper positioning and technique.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and accurate documentation.
• Respond effectively in emergencies and communicate with departments.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and report malfunctions.

Full-time day shift, 40 hours per week, 10-hr shifts with on-call. On call is (usually) 1 day a week and 1 weekend (Friday starting at 5pm thru Monday morning at 0700) every 5th. On-call needs may fluctuate.

Position Purpose

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with supervising physicians, department, and other members of the healthcare team in an effective and comprehensive manner. Assists physician in performing basic to advanced interventional cardiovascular/radiologic procedures for the adult patient. Strong background in angiography with an emphasis in cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, cardiac/ peripheral vascular stenting, and interventional radiology procedures for the trauma patient.

As a Cath Lab/IR Tech, You Will

• Follows appropriate department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by Radiologist
• Obtains and documents patient history and pertinent information in appropriate systems Insures proper identification of patient according to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Verifies and follows Doctor’s written orders
• Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation, such as positioning, technique, and image orientation
• Responds effectively in an emergency situation
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care
• Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner
• Demonstrates understanding of safety, health and moral needs of customers/co-workers by taking steps to insure those needs are met.
• Plans delivery of care according to patient injury or physical limitations.
• Operates medical imaging equipment properly and safely
• Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others Replenishes and changes supplies in assigned area as needed
• Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting warm-up procedures
• Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems
• Performs accurate procedures in the operating room
• Assists Radiologist in performing fluoroscopic procedures
• Performs quality bedside radiographs
• Accurately prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or ARRT required
• Dysrhythmia course within 90 days of hire-successful completion
• BLS Certification
• 1 year Cath Lab, IR, or EP experience preferred
• On Call commitment
