Job summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham is looking for a dedicated Cath Lab Tech to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. You will scrub, monitor and circulates, operating various lab equipment in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to advanced procedures like PCI and IVUS, while maintaining patient safety and professional growth in a leading Alabama health system.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within six (6) months from date of hire into classification.
• Registered as RCIS through CCI and/or ARRT.
• Two years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or electrophysiology lab may substitute for licensure/certification/registration.
• High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admits and orients patient to cardiac cath lab per pre-procedural checklist.
• Functions as a scrub assistant; establishes and maintains sterile field.
• Functions in the role of monitor; operates EKG, x-ray and hemodynamic equipment.
• Interacts with patient to ensure comfort and safety; assists physician with diagnostic and mapping systems.

Education

CPR certification

ACLS certification (AHA)

RCIS and/or ARRT certification

Two years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or electrophysiology lab may substitute for licensure/certification/registration

High School Diploma or equivalent

One year of experience preferred
