Job summary

UC San Diego Health, a Magnet-designated organization, is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to assess patients, provide nursing care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, and serve as primary RN, circulator, or monitor as needed.

The role requires 12-hour weekday shifts with mandatory rotating call coverage including nights, weekends, holidays, and urgent procedures. California RN license and state certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Moderate Sedation certification within three (3) months of hire.
• Two years Cath Lab RN experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to take call and work variable locations and shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, per department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, pulmonary vascular, and peripheral vascular procedures.
• May serve as primary RN, circulator, or monitor for these procedures.
• Promote compliance and supports policies and professional performance.
• Respond within 30 minutes of STEMI activation.
