Job summary

Trinity Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process in a team-based setting. The role requires assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to support patient health and safety.

The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure individualized care, education for patients and families, and timely discharge planning in accordance with accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate, educate) in providing patient care.
• Performs assessment through data collection of patient's physical and psychosocial status and health history.
• Plans patient care through individualization of care and incorporates patient/family input.
• Implements physician orders, treatments, care plan interventions according to schedule in a timely manner.
• Evaluates and prioritizes patient care decisions and communicates relevant information to care providers.
• Educates the patient and family if applicable to meet the health care needs utilizing assessment of learning needs according to patient's abilities, readiness to learn and barriers to learning.
• Participates and responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Utilizes the medication administration system and is in compliance with requirements.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
