Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the Cardiac Cath Lab team in Kankakee, IL.

This full-time role emphasizes direct patient care for adults and the elderly within the cardiovascular suite, coordinating closely with physicians and the lab staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures. The candidate should hold an active RN license, with BCLS and ACLS certs current, and have at least 1 year of cardiovascular lab or critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
• Active state RN License; required.
• Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
• One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab.
• Communicates with physicians about patient condition during procedures.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory; ensures readiness of room and devices.
• Monitors physiologic data and patient status during diagnostic/therapeutic cardiovascular procedures.
• Participates in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care.
