Job summary

Stuart Cardiovascular Surgery Center is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our state-of-the-art cardiovascular team. The Cath Lab RN will assist physicians during interventional procedures, monitor patients, administer medications, and educate families before and after procedures.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, licensed in Florida, BLS and ACLS certified, with cardiac cath lab experience preferred and a commitment to patient-centered,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable.
• Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and patient management.
• Understanding and demonstrated application of aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, flexibility, creativity, and receptiveness to change.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as ordered.
• Provide patient and family education regarding pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, radiology technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, procedural details, medications, and any complications.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac events.
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly maintained, available, and ready for procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, recovery, and discharge according to established protocols.
• Promote a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered environment.
