Job summary

Intermountain Health in Denver seeks a CV Invasive Specialist II to support catheterization procedures with minimal supervision and independent judgment. You will assist in room prep, use imaging systems, document data, and provide patient education while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires RCIS/RCES or ARRT-CI/ARRT-VI or RN, BLS, ACLS or PALS, and ongoing CME commitments; and duties span scrub, circulate, and post-procedure tasks in a busy cath lab.

Qualifications

• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• PALS certification for children’s hospitals or ACLS certification for adults; new employees must obtain within 3 months.
• Beginning July 1, 2026 must be RCIS/RCES or ARRT-CI/ARRT-VI or RN or equivalent per state rules.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex diagnostic and interventional procedures related to electrophysiology.
• Maintains at least 12 CME credits per year.
• CVIS/CVES I skills sign-off required within 3 months of hire.
• Meets state-specific requirements including Surgical Tech and Fluoroscopy Operator certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of CV Invasive Specialist II and assist in procedure room setup.
• Participate in procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnaround.
• Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic and interventional supplies; assist in inventory control.
• Document hemodynamic recordings, calculations and interpretations.
• Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families; support teamwork with physicians.
• Understand imaging principles and operate imaging equipment safely.
• May mix and administer medications under physician supervision per RCIS/RCES rules.
• Apply closure devices and manage hemostasis at procedure end as directed.
• Document procedures accurately and ensure QA in cath lab settings.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot cath lab equipment; participate in POCT and QA.
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor in diagnostic, interventional and CRM procedures.
• Prepare procedural reports and manage imaging studies and data entry.
