Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in Cath Lab or Special Procedures is preferred.
• ARRT certification is preferred.
• Radiologic Tech license in the state of practice is required.
• CPR or BLS certification from approved vendor is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system (Angio cardiograms) during cardiac catheterization.
• Assists physicians with specialized procedures and sets technical factors into the computer.
• Positions patient and adjusts the x-ray tube as directed by the physician and injects contrast as ordered.
• Activates fluoroscope and cinefluorography to assist guidance of catheters in the cardiovascular system.
• Provides explanations to patients and discharge instructions.
