Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley seeks an experienced Cath Lab support professional to assist invasive cardiology and interventional radiology teams. You will monitor hemodynamics, operate imaging equipment, scrub and circulate during procedures, and uphold radiation safety standards.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment troubleshooting, inventory management, and patient/family education. Certification and CEU upkeep are required to maintain licensure and quality care.

Qualifications

  • Accredited School of Radiology education required.
  • Experience in cath lab assumed; ECG and hemodynamic monitoring skills needed.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and patient monitoring practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for interventional procedures.
  • Monitor hemodynamic measurements during catheterization procedures.
  • Operate and troubleshoot interventional equipment and imaging modalities.
  • Maintain radiation safety protocols and minimize exposure for patients and staff.
  • Inventory procedure rooms and restock supplies as needed.
  • Cross-train in Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology Lab.
  • Ensure data is accurately recorded and reported.

Shares responsibility in the acquisition and processing of state-of-the-art imaging and efficient operation of equipment in the interventional labs. Participates in hemodynamic monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating duties. Maintains adequate levels of inventory in assigned procedure and restocks inventories as needed. Operates appropriate medical equipment and interacts professionally with customers and staff.LocationsStanford Health Care - Tri ValleyWhat you will doPrepare and position patients for interventional proceduresMonitors and documents all essential hemodynamic measurements throughout diagnostic and interventional catheterization procedures.Utilizes and troubleshoots all adjunct diagnostic and interventional modalities necessary to complete.Provides technical skills necessary to assist the physician in performing interventional procedures.Provides a safe environment for patients undergoing interventional procedures including instituting methods to reduce radiation exposure.Monitors and documents all X-ray exposure doses. Ensures radiation protection protocols are followed by all staff members and patientsInventories procedure rooms and stocks as needed. Completes expired stock list monthly.Participates in cross training in all aspects of the Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology Lab. Maintains all CEU's required for certification and or licensure.Effectively completes and ensures that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital.
