Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Radiology Technology required.
• Current Louisiana Radiology license and ARRT registered required.
• BLS-CPR certified required.
• ACLS certified required.

Responsibilities

• Effectively identifies and solves problems in reference to radiology equipment, patient care or radiation safety.
• Consistently communicates abnormal variances to Charge nurse, Circulating RN or Nurse Manager.
• Competent in sterile technique for all cath lab procedures
• Demonstrates best practices: Huddles, procedure reporting, Service Excellence, and sterile technique.
• Follows evidence-based policies and procedures to guide radiology practice.
• Consistently produces quality radiographs.
• Possesses competency in use of technology and computers.
• Demonstrates competency in archive unit, image management, study measurements and quality control.
• Performs assessment of patient regarding positioning to obtain quality study.
• Participates in multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Competently performs/assists with all cath lab procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in operation of all cath lab equipment.
• Interprets and implements physician orders for positioning and x ray views.
• Performs unit specific procedures in x ray and scrub positions.
• Participates in Unit PI plan and uses unit equipment appropriately.
• Understands and responds to diverse cultural variables in interactions.
• Adheres to hospital/department radiation safety policies.
