Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Cardiology/Radiology Specialist to educate patients and staff on radiology issues and support cath lab procedures. The role reports to the Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse and participates in multidisciplinary patient care.

Qualifications include graduation from a School of Radiology Technology, Louisiana Radiology licensure with ARRT registration, and BLS-CPR and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Radiology Technology.
• Current Louisiana Radiology license and ARRT registered.
• BLS-CPR certified.
• ACLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and solves problems related to radiology equipment, patient care or radiation safety.
• Communicates abnormal variances to Charge Nurse, Circulating RN or Nurse Manager.
• Maintains sterile technique for cath lab procedures.
• Adheres to best practices: huddles, procedure reporting, service excellence, sterile technique.
• Follows policies for radiology practice and radiation safety.
• Produces quality radiographs consistently.
• Operates cath lab equipment competently and understands image management systems.
• Assesses patient positioning to obtain quality studies and participates in multidisciplinary care.
• Performs/assists with cath lab procedures and related equipment operation.
• Interprets physician orders for positioning and x-ray views.
• Contributes to Unit PI plans and uses unit equipment appropriately.
• Follows infection control policies and radiation safety training.

Education

Graduate of School of Radiology Technology

Louisiana Radiology license and ARRT registered

BLS-CPR certified

ACLS certified
