Job summary

Dallas Center United Methodist is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures in a hospital setting. The role involves assisting with monitor tech duties, scrub tech tasks, and circulator activities under physician supervision.

The position requires RCIS or ARRT/TX RT(R) credentials where applicable, a science-focused degree, and an AHA ACLS certification, with responsibilities spanning teaching, equipment operation, patient transport, and sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree with science emphasis or healthcare experience.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification to be obtained within six months of hire or ARRT/TX RT(R) in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during cath lab procedures by interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder; interprets pressures and waveforms.
• Assists physician with procedures as scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during procedures and handling supplies.
• Transports patients to and from the department; cleans and stocks cath lab; maintains sterile technique; assists with medication knowledge and dosages.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardio Life Support certification

RCIS certified within six months of date of hire

ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS
