Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to support invasive cardiovascular procedures under physician supervision. The role requires RCIS within 18 months, ARRT TX RT(R) or equivalent, and AHA ACLS certification.

The candidate will assist as monitor tech, scrub tech, and circulator in the cath lab, with patient transport and equipment operation. The position emphasizes teaching and orientation of new staff, maintaining sterile technique, and inventory

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science emphasis or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• RCIS certified within eighteen (18) months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures in the cath lab, interpreting dysrhythmias and EKGs, operating physiologic recorder, and reading pressures and waveforms.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Monitors patient status during procedures as a circulator and assists with supplies and imaging equipment.
• transports patients to/from the department and supports cath lab operations.
