Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma/assoc./bachelor health sciences preferred; cardiovascular tech, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing backgrounds acceptable.
• HS Diploma is required.
• BLS; ACLS required within 90 days of hire.

Sentara Heart Hospital is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist in the Cath Lab.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $32.90 - $50.52 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Overview

In this role, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization. A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic. ACLS not required for hire but must acquire within 90 days.

Education

• A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic is strongly preferred

Certification/Licensure

Experience

• Related experience such as working as a Cardiovascular Invasive Tech or working in an invasive cardiac environment, EMT or paramedic experience
