Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist for the Cath Lab to support cardiac and vascular procedures. This full-time role includes day shifts with some on-call requirements and opportunities to assist as a first assistant during catheterization procedures.

The candidate should graduate from a health sciences program (or be a licensed EMT/paramedic) and obtain ACLS within 90 days of hire; BLS is also required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a diploma, associate, or bachelor's health sciences program or licensed EMT/paramedic.
• ACLS not required for hire but must acquire within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac and vascular procedures under physician direction.
• Act as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.
• Perform baseline patient assessment and monitor patient response during procedures.
• Provide patient care in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $32.90 - $50.52 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Job Description

In this role, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures. Resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.

A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic. ACLS not required for hire but must acquire within 90 days.
