Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Catering/Suite Attendant at the University of St. Thomas to assist with delivering food, maintaining suites, and supporting event operations.

You will ensure timely delivery, understand menu content, and uphold food safety and sanitation guidelines. The role requires standing for long periods and physical activity to support guests and events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food and beverage is properly delivered and stored.
• Pick up food from the kitchen and deliver to guests.
• Maintain the space before, during, and after each event.
• Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.
• Follow up/setup/breakdown processes efficiently.
• Complete event setup and breakdown within timelines.
• Perform post-event product inventory and restock as needed.
• Understand event paperwork and reports.
• Adhere to location appearance guidelines.
• Act with urgency and professionalism.
• Maintain prep and service areas.
• Employ good safety and sanitation practices.
• Understand the importance of equipment maintenance.
• Help fellow employees as necessary.
• Stand for long periods and engage with guests.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.

Job description

The Catering/Suite Attendant at the University of St. Thomas is responsible for receiving specific orders and requests to be fulfilled before, during and after each event. In this position, the attendant should have an understanding of the content of the menu and ensures that food is delivered in a timely fashion. The attendant maintains each suite and/or all-inclusive event space during the event. The attendant should understand and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and help with the execution of area setup and breakdown.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures all food and beverage is properly delivered and/or stored.
• Pick up food from the kitchen and deliver it to guests.
• Maintain the space before, during, and after each event.
• Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.
• Follows set up and break down processes efficiently.
• Thoroughly completes all event set-up and breakdown responsibilities within timelines provided.
• Performs post event product inventory and restocks as needed.
• Understands all event paperwork and reports.
• Adheres to location appearance guidelines.
• Acts with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
• Maintains prep and service areas.
• Employs good safety and sanitation practices.
• Understands the importance of maintaining equipment.
• Helps fellow employees whenever necessary.
• Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
• Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a desire to gain experience and work in the foodservice or hospitality industry. An outgoing personality is preferred. The candidate should have the ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing exceptional experience. The ability to communicate effectively by speaking and comprehending English, with the ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
