Job summary

California Chicken Café in Venice, CA is seeking a Catering Associate to organize and execute a wide variety of catering orders while delivering friendly hospitality. You will take orders by phone or walk-up, assist with deliveries, and handle payments at the POS.

• Must complete California Chicken Café Road to Success class within first month of hire.
• 1+ years of restaurant experience preferred.
• Speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Pass Food Handler course and test per CA state law.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Organize and execute California Chicken Café's catering options to ensure excellence in our marketing tool.
• Maintain a positive and friendly work environment adhering to company values.
• Coordinate deliveries with drivers and guests, including handoffs.
• Assist in coordinating deliveries using the delivery dispatching platform.
• Take catering orders and inquiries via phone or walk up.
• Deliver catering orders using company or personal vehicle when needed.
• Follow up with catering guests daily.
• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests.
• Take guest orders and process payments using the POS system.
• Greet guests at drive‑up and assist with vehicle service.
• Maintain clean, sanitized, and stocked restaurant.
• Communicate clearly about issues with food quality, equipment, or work environment.
• Read and follow all company policies and procedures.

Overall Responsibilities

Organize and execute California Chicken Café's wide variety of catering options to ensure excellence in our most powerful marketing tool.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and friendly work environment while adhering and applying the company’s core values
• Responsible for staging, reviewing and handing off catering orders to drivers/guest
• Assist in coordinating deliveries using the delivery dispatching platform
• Planning, reviewing, and coordinating next day catering orders
• Taking catering orders and inquiries via phone or walk up
• Delivery catering orders if needed using company and/or personal vehicle
• Following up with catering guests daily
• Deliver exceptional hospitality to our guests
• Take guest orders and handle payments using the POS system
• Direct, greet and assist guests in the Drive‑Up Service as well as deliver food to guests’ vehicles
• Greet guests with moments of humanity upon arrival
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and properly stocked restaurant
• Strong communication regarding any issues with food quality, equipment, and work environment
• Read and adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must attend and pass California Chicken Café Road to Success class within first month of hire
• 1+ years of previous restaurant experience preferred
• Speak, read, and write English fluently
• Passionate about food and hospitality
• Friendly, upbeat, and cooperative
• Must pass Food Handler course and test in compliance with CA state law requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

• Perform duties that require standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, twisting, climbing, lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs. individually), constant gripping/grasping, and moving throughout the restaurant for 4-10 hours per shift, up to 6 shifts per week

Work Conditions

• Hours will vary in accordance with business necessity, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, steam, and smoke.
• Works with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment typical of a restaurant kitchen
