Job summary

NBCUniversal seeks a Catering Sous Chef to assist the Catering Chef in planning, producing and executing foods for catered events. You will foster a cohesive team, oversee staff performance, and ensure quality, safety and compliance across operations.

The role requires strong culinary knowledge, at least 3 years of management experience in food service, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. NBCUniversal offers comprehensive benefits and on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; culinary training needed.
• Minimum 3 years management experience in the food industry.
• Experience leading a team and coordinating events.
• Ability to work on weekends, holidays and nights as needed.
• Demonstrates good judgment and ethics in staff and guest interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, production and execution of all catered menus and events.
• Supervise hourly staff and seasonal supervisors; provide coaching and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with union contracts and safety regulations.
• Manage schedules, workflows, and budgets for department operations.
• Train new hires and maintain high standards of service and sanitation.
