Job summary

Elephants Delicatessen in Portland, Oregon is seeking a detail‑oriented catering sales professional to exceed customer expectations, manage inbound order calls, process proposals, and coordinate events with the catering team.

This full‑time on‑site role requires a minimum one year in inside sales or a call center, HS diploma, and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. You will maintain schedules, complete required paperwork, and follow up on inquiries within 24 hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of experience in inside sales/call center environment.
• Documented success in completion of goals and objectives.
• Computer competence in Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Follow up calls for all delivery/events scheduled.
• All catering calls/messages returned within 24 hour period.
• Meet with clients when requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary/Objective

Exceed customer expectations with outstanding customer service for each order and event sold. Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales goals and quotas. Work effectively within the catering team structure to maintain a cohesive working unit.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position typically scheduled for 40 hours per week. The required schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, with work during general office hours (9 am to 5 pm). Some flexibility with specific start/stop times may be available. Flexible schedule may be required. Additional training and/or education hours may be required. This position is required to work on site and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

• Working with exposure to dust, mold, gluten, fragrances and other fumes and airborne particles, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, and flowers
