Job summary

Culinaire, a Compass Group USA affiliate, seeks a Catering Sales Manager to lead the Catering Department, grow existing business, and secure new clients. You will oversee event setup, service quality, and staff performance to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

You will train associates, coordinate with the chef on menus, and manage labor and food costs for events, while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• 4 years in luxury catering operations and sales.
• Experience across restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, and related food-service ops.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, and food cost controls.
• Financial, budgeting, and basic accounting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all catering events.

As the Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Catering Department in all duties including Catering Sales maintaining existing business and obtaining new business, training new associates, overseeing event set‑ups, and directing any temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including proper set‑up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises all catering events.
• Works closely with the internal client and has one direct report – catering coordinator
• Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
• Works with the Chef in creating menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.
• Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
• Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 4 years Luxury Catering operations and Sales
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
• ServSafe Certification.
