Job summary

Stein Collection is seeking a Catering Sales Manager in Park City to expand banquet revenue by selling and coordinating weddings, social events, and meetings not tied to Group Sales. You will provide the standards for superior customer service within budgeted guidelines.

Reporting to the Director of Catering and Event Services, you will oversee the Catering Service Manager and collaborate with Sales, Reservations, and Banquet teams to maximize function space and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent educational experience.
• Minimum of three years of catering experience, with emphasis on wedding sales and service.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as the event schedule requires.
• Luxury hotel experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of food and beverage fundamentals, wedding management, menu planning and event coordination.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and deportment.

Responsibilities

• Solicit banquet and catering business through sales calls and marketing initiatives, including Park City and surrounding cities.
• Coordinate all aspects of social events, weddings, and meetings with fewer than ten guest rooms.
• Act as liaison between operational staff and guests.
• Coordinate with banquet department to maximize function space.
• Prepare and distribute banquet event orders ten days in advance.
• Identify potential clients and coordinate with Marketing and Sales.
• Maintain Delphi daily calendar and blocked space.
• Complete guest correspondence including contracts and confirmations promptly.
• Oversee daily function summaries and change orders.
• Collaborate with Sales and Reservations on wedding room-block management.
• Merchandise catering menus and provide client support.
• Maintain client records and billing details.
• Produce monthly lost-business reports.
• Consult with Food and Beverage staff to provide special menus and services.
• Strengthen relationships with local properties and businesses.
• Report guest comments to the Food and Beverage Director.
• Obtain guarantees within 48 hours of coordinated functions.
• Ensure proper function presentation and introduction to management.
• Attend relevant functions ensuring details are correct.

Position Summary

The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding Stein Collection’s banquet revenue by selling and coordinating all aspects of wedding, social, and meeting business not associated with Group Sales bookings. The Catering Sales Manager provides the standards required to achieve superior customer service within budgeted guidelines.

Compensation

$70,000 annually + Incentive

Essential Functions

• Solicit banquet and catering business through sales calls and marketing initiatives, utilizing the SELMCS Delphi database of accounts and conducting in-person sales calls in Park City, Salt Lake City, and surrounding cities.
• Coordinate all aspects of social events, weddings, and business meetings with fewer than ten guest rooms.
• Act as a liaison between operational staff and guests.
• Coordinate with the banquet department to maximize the use of available function space.
• Prepare and distribute relevant banquet event orders ten days in advance.
• Identify potential clients and coordinate with Marketing and Sales.
• Organize and monitor the Delphi daily calendar to maintain current information and blocked space.
• Complete guest correspondence, including contracts, confirmations, thank-you letters, and inquiries, efficiently and promptly.
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of daily function summaries, ten-day function summaries, change orders, cancellation orders, and revised banquet event orders.
• Work closely with the Sales and Reservations teams on wedding room-block management.
• Merchandise catering menus and provide technical support to clients.
• Maintain filing, tracing, and client details.
• Produce a monthly lost-business report.
• Consult with the necessary Food and Beverage operational staff to provide special menus and services.
• Strengthen networking relationships with other local properties and businesses.
• Report guest comments to the Food and Beverage Director.
• Obtain guarantees within 48 hours of all coordinated functions.
• Maintain accurate records of billing and deposit information.
• Monitor the presentation and service of coordinated functions, and ensure the client is introduced to operational management and staff.
• Achieve and exceed required standards of customer service.
• Attend all relevant functions, ensuring that all details are correct and that clients have been introduced to the operational supervisor.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Food and Beverage service, seating and table arrangements, lighting, and audiovisual equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the physical requirements and operational restrictions of Stein Collection hotels as they relate to functions.
• Control and analyze the quality levels of products and services related to functions.
