Job summary

Oki Golf is seeking a Catering Sales Manager at The Golf Club at Newcastle to lead business development, event planning, and BEO production while overseeing all catering activities to maintain the highest service level.

You will assist the sales team to meet prospecting goals, conduct site visits, and manage a diverse range of events, including weddings and corporate functions, with weekend availability and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college or university program certificate. Two years hospitality sales experience and/or training.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to offices throughout Washington State.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Participate in community events and represent the organization publicly.
  • Maintain knowledge of booking procedures, menus, and event spaces.

Job description

As the Catering Sales Manager at The Golf Club at Newcastle, you will be responsible for business development, event planning, BEO production and oversight of all related catering activities to the highest level of service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist sales team with prospecting methods and hitting weekly/monthly prospecting goals.
  • Your primary focus is growing the business within an assigned market segment.
  • Assist Director of Sales with quarterly projects (goal setting, menu pricing, comp set review, annual sales plan, etc.)
  • Schedule and conduct site visits, lunches, and tours. (includes weekends)
  • Generate RFPs.
  • Generate referrals from the existing client base.
  • Return all inquiries and correspondence within 24 hours.
  • Drive sales and planning of a diverse range of events, including weddings, corporate functions, social celebrations, nonprofit events, and other special events.
  • Participate in community events, and professional organizations, and represent and promote the organization through community involvement.
  • Achieve or exceed established prospecting and revenue goals.
  • Provide accurate sales reports in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor and be dressed in uniform at the start of each shift.
  • Provide suggestive selling at every opportunity by informing guests of specials and your personal recommendations.
  • Always anticipate guest needs, including referring cross-property booking.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of all booking procedures, menu items, and event space capabilities.
  • Work holidays and weekends as need to accomplish the duties listed above.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Four-year college or university program certificate - two years hospitality sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to offices throughout Washington State.
  • The ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • The ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required to successfully perform the essential duties described above.
  • Must possess negotiation skills and contract knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and related software including Word, Excel, Publisher, Acrobat, and Outlook, is required.

COMPENSATION DETAILS:
  • Offered rate of pay range: $30.00 - $34.00per hour
  • Eligible for overtime
  • Eligible for quarterly & annual sales bonuses
