Description

We are hiring a Catering & Sales Manager. The role focuses on selling and managing social and corporate catering events, including guest rooms. The Catering Sales Manager must work a flexible schedule, including weekends, to oversee event execution. During peak seasons the schedule may shift to Tuesday–Saturday and may vary by day of the week.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with clients for all arrangements, suggest menus, bar setup, room arrangements, and provide written agreements to relevant departments.
• Conduct daily solicitation for new business, contract negotiation and review, coordinate local marketing efforts and maintain communication before, during and after events.
• Identify operational challenges, determine solutions in collaboration with property staff and customers.
• Integrate current trends in event management and design into practices.
• Work closely with the sales team to maximize facility utilization.
• Continuously improve customer service using feedback and personal judgment.
• Create ideas to increase catering revenue during low demand periods.
• Finalize Banquet Event Order (BEO) details and publish BEOs for distribution.
• Provide personalized service to all groups and maintain professional guest contacts.
• Solicit future business from current and past customers.
• Model proper attitude and performance, fostering a cooperative team environment.
• Delegate responsibilities to banquet captain when applicable.
• Review plans and actions on a quarterly basis and update as needed.
• Maintain records on cancellations and turndown reports and analyze these quarterly.
• Provide site tours to potential customers of the hotel’s banquet facilities.
• Facilitate necessary meetings such as Banquet Event Order meetings, room block reviews, pre/post convention meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in catering sales, or 2 years’ experience in hotel catering/convention services, banquet, hotel sales, or culinary arts; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
