We are a full-service, off-premise events company offering catering, production, custom design, and staffing. Our diverse clientele ranges from corporate conferences, receptions, and product launches to private social events, weddings, mitzvahs, and nonprofit galas and fundraisers. Our commissary kitchen & warehouse is in Long Island City, Queens.

Join our dynamic, top-tier culinary production team as a PREP COOK under Executive Chef Chris Tonti and Chef de Cuisine Matt Smallwood. Our Culinary Department works in a high-volume production kitchen environment preparing food for high-end events. This position is ideal for someone looking to bring their culinary expertise to a high-volume production kitchen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits, portioning proteins, and measuring ingredients
  • Preparing sauces, stocks, dressings, and marinades
  • Following recipes to execute daily prep list, as necessary
  • Working on the production hot line, as necessary, which includes sauteing, frying, grilling, and oven work
  • Keeping prep area clean and stocked with necessary tools and ingredients
  • Storing ingredients at the correct temperature, labeling items, following First In, First Out protocol
  • Utilizing sanitary work practices in routine production
  • Following all food safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a high-volume production kitchen or similar environment
  • Working knowledge of culinary techniques, measuring methods, & ingredients
  • Proficient work practices with equipment (ex. knives, blenders, mixers)
  • Schedule flexibility, available to work weekends and/or evenings when necessary
  • Ability to follow direction and focus on completing multi-step tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the culinary team
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and hard working
  • Understanding and adherence to all food safety standards (NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred)
