Job summary

SSA Group in Baltimore is seeking an Assistant Catering Operations Manager to oversee catering logistics, event coordination, and quality control for on-site events at the National Aquarium.

You will support the Catering Sales and Culinary teams, manage client relationships, vendor coordination, and ensure seamless execution. Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills are essential for delivering memorable events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed catering event plans, including orders, timelines, staffing, and layouts.
• Coordinate with Sales to capture event requirements and ensure execution.
• Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of events; ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Maintain relationships with clients; address concerns and provide tailored solutions.
• Negotiate with vendors to optimize costs and quality; manage resources.
• Ensure compliance with laws; maintain safe, clean work environment.
• Lead team management activities: hire, schedule, coach, and develop staff.
• Analyze costs, budgeting, and post-event reporting for continuous improvement.
