Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, seeks a Catering Manager at Baylor University in Waco, TX. This role requires 2 years in food service with 1 year in management, and catering experience; ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience with at least 1 year in a management role.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Financial, budgeting, accounting and numerical skills.
• Proficient computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
• ServSafe Certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead all catering events.
• Oversee catering operations, including logistics, sanitation, and facility activities.
• Collaborate with Chef on catering menus.
• Train catering associates in service techniques and customer service.
• Monitor labor and food costs per event.
• Maintain excellent client relationships across management, clients, customers and staff.
• Support foodservice-related activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking an energetic and growth-minded Catering Manager for our premiere catering department at BAYLOR UNIVERSITY. Our Catering Manager will be responsible for developing and driving catering solutions to meet our customer needs, while working closely with the Executive Chef on menu development. Events encompass a diverse spectrum, spanning from lunch services to exclusive VIP dining occasions to Presidential events, hosted both on-campus and off-campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all catering events.

• Expert in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.

• Works with the Chef in creating catering menus.

• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.

• Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.

• Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.

• Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
