Overview

Manage catering accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit new and repeat business, ensuring revenue goals are met or exceeded. Responsibilities include soliciting new catering sales, maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with internal departments to execute events successfully.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through prospecting, sales calls, site inspections, and communication.
  2. Understand and participate in forecasting, budgeting, and revenue management.
  3. Evaluate business opportunities to maximize revenue and profitability.
  4. Research competitors and develop strategic business plans.
  5. Sell all hotel amenities, including room rental and A/V services.
  6. Build long-term client relationships and book repeat business.
  7. Participate in industry organizations and community activities to generate leads.
  8. Utilize sales techniques including closing and negotiating skills.
  9. Conduct site inspections and client presentations confidently.
  10. Participate in trade shows and sales blitzes.
  11. Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams to develop creative menus and event setups.
  12. Oversee event operations, ensuring client satisfaction and proper execution.
  13. Manage A/V equipment and operate it as needed.
  14. Use computer systems such as Delphi, Word, and Excel effectively.
  15. Work with vendors to ensure quality service for events.
  16. Maintain reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Experience in hospitality, specifically catering sales, is essential.
  2. Minimum 1 year in catering sales at a similar hotel.
  3. High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
  5. Strong sales, revenue management, and motivational skills.
  6. Knowledge of hotel features, operations, and market competition.
  7. Effective communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.

Compensation

Not eligible for tips or service charges. Discretionary performance bonuses available.
