Role Description The Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations, ensuring high-quality food and service for events of varying sizes and formats. This full-time, on-site role in Pleasanton, CA includes planning menus, coordinating event logistics, and managing food preparation and presentation in collaboration with culinary and service teams. The role involves supervising catering staff, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring that events meet safety, quality, and budgetary standards. The Catering Manager will also handle scheduling, inventory control, and vendor coordination, while upholding Compass Group’s service and hospitality standards.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Food Service and Catering, with experience managing event-based food operations.
• Knowledge of Cooking and Food & Beverage, including menu planning and basic culinary techniques.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and respond to client needs.
• Experience supervising teams in a hospitality or catering environment.
• Ability to manage multiple events, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and compliance requirements.
• Effective organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional culinary, hospitality, or business education is a plus.
