Description

HANDEL'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM is looking for a Catering Manager at our Anderson Mill location in Austin, TX.

Come join our rapidly growing family and be part of the tradition Alice Handel started in Youngstown Ohio back in 1945. From making each batch fresh daily to using Alice Handel's original methods and recipes, we're still sharing our homemade ice cream and serving the communities we love so much, one scoop at a time.

What We Expect From a Catering Manager

• Positive and friendly engaging energy, setting an example for staff and guests alike
• Must be 18 or older to apply
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to tow a trailer
• Ability to pass a background check, as you will be on campuses with kids
• Ability to interact well with kids of all ages and create excitement for our ice cream
• Sales skills for interacting with schools and businesses to sign them up for catering
• Organizational skills to respond quickly to emails, manage an events calendar, plan ahead, and communicate needs to staff
• Knowledge of flavor rotation, inventory management, sanitation procedures, FIFO, and health standards
• Comfort with multitasking in a fast-paced environment, with extensive product knowledge
• Problem-solving skills to handle challenging interactions positively
• Ability to balance urgency with friendliness and guide guests through the menu
• Ability to complete cleaning, stocking, and side work efficiently
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 lbs, and stand/walk for prolonged periods
• Familiarity with equipment sanitation and following food service policies
• Delegation skills and ability to train staff
• Ability to operate POS systems and handle cash
• Availability for varying catering event hours
• Reliability and punctuality
• Teamwork and accountability to foster a positive environment
