Hy-Vee is seeking a Catering Coordinator for the Market Grille to own the full catering experience—from meeting customers and writing detailed orders to coordinating across kitchen, bakery, and deli to ensure every event goes smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of similar or related work experience required.
• Ability to stand and walk during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers.
• Meet with customers to understand catering needs and write detailed orders; coordinate across departments (kitchen, bakery, deli).
• Set and uphold department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, and profitability.
• Contact businesses to share Hy-Vee catering services and develop contracts for exclusive events.
• Determine pricing, prepare invoices, and oversee department bookkeeping procedures.
• Develop and maintain standard catering practices; conduct quality control checks for multi-event catering.
• Organize store shows and events (bridal/holiday) and coordinate with events team.
• Ensure proper temperatures and storage to guarantee product freshness and control shrink.
• Attend department meetings and monitor pricing to stay competitive.
