Job summary

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking a bartender to staff events in the Norfolk area. You will prepare and serve beverages, check IDs, and assist with setup and breakdown for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.

This part-time role offers $20/hr plus occasional tips, with 401k matching after the first year and flexible scheduling to fit a second job. Previous catering experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bartending experience, preferably in catering/banquet settings.
• Able to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Very physical position requiring bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing long periods.

Responsibilities

• Review event worksheet and be knowledgeable about the event details.
• Check in with Event Captain or Co-Captain on arrival and departure.
• Assist with bar setup, glassware, and unloading the GG vehicle.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; answer questions about ingredients and suggestions.
• Verify legal drinking age of guests.
• Process payments for drinks if cash bar (Square app).
• Clean up the bar area and pack away items at end of event.
• Assist with breakdown; ensure no debris remains and rentals are stored properly.
