Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is hiring a full-time Cook, Prep for the University of Miami catering team in Coral Gables, FL. The role involves food preparation, following recipes, and serving customers across stations at events and daily operations.

Requires prior professional culinary experience; event-based culinary experience is preferred. Shifts vary with event schedules, and the fixed pay rate is $16.20 per hour. Online applications are accepted.

Qualifications

• Prior professional culinary experience required.
• Event-based culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepares items on production sheets following quantities and recipes.
• Completes daily production worksheets and waste logs; tastes meals for quality.
• Operates and cleans department equipment after use.
• Stores, labels and dates all food items per policy; follows HACCP guidelines.
• Completes required documentation and reports.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations.
• Takes orders and prepares items with short prep times.
• Serves customers efficiently at multiple stations.
• Uses approved recipes and standards for portion control and serving temperatures.
