Job summary

SMSC Food Services in Minnesota is seeking a cook to prepare from scratch meals for Native Harvest Catering events. You will help with catered events, ensure food safety, and provide excellent service to guests and clients.

Weekly pay is offered along with comprehensive health benefits and opportunities for advancement. The role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to lift up to 60 lbs and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proven experience as a cook in ala carte kitchens or catering.
• Experience with cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety standards.
• Ability to pass background check, physical and drug test.
• Valid Class D driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and standing most of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and deliver high‑quality meals for customers, staff and community.
• Follow established recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines.
• Store, rotate and label food properly to maintain freshness and safety.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety, including dishwashing and floor care.
• Support operations across SMSC Food Service areas, including Native Harvest Catering.
