Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Catering Captain to coordinate catering staff schedules, prepare and serve food at functions, and possibly drive deliveries. The role requires prior supervisory experience and a valid food handler's permit where required.

The position is full-time in Abilene, TX with a schedule Monday–Friday mornings and afternoons, benefits, and opportunities for growth. Pay ranges from $16.50 to $18.50 per hour, with online applications and standard Compass benefits.

• Prior supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure functions are delivered, served and cleared on time.
• Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under supervision.
• May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.
• Determines workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meets with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements; addresses changes and resolves problems.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates understanding of menu items.
• Instructs staff on work expectations for catered functions.
• Helps staff set up rooms to desired specifications.
• Assembles and delivers food and supplies to scheduled locations.
• Serves food and beverages to guests.
