Position Summary

Larkin’s Catering and Events is seeking a skilled and service-driven

Position Summary

Larkin’s Catering and Events is seeking a skilled and service-driven Catering Captain to lead both on-site and off-site events. As a Catering Captain, you will be the primary point of contact for event execution—responsible for managing service staff, ensuring smooth event flow, and creating exceptional guest experiences. This leadership role requires professionalism, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to a wide variety of venues and environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead catering setups, service, and breakdowns at both on-site and off-site events
  • Manage service timelines and delegate responsibilities to staff effectively
  • Act as liaison between culinary teams, clients, and event managers
  • Uphold service standards and ensure a professional, hospitable atmosphere
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute changes or challenges
  • Maintain event paperwork, timesheets, and communicate key event details
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws
  • Represent Larkin’s Catering and Events with professionalism and hospitality

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of catering, banquet, or event leadership experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ServSafe or TIPS certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods (up to 10–12 hours)
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs as needed
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including variable weather conditions

Work Environment

This position supports both on-site catering at Larkin’s venues and off-site events at private homes, corporate locations, and outdoor venues. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and professional in all settings.
