Job Summary

The Catering Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
2. Set up assigned bars; requisition and stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.
3. Maintain stock; prepare, cure, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
4. Greet guests courteously and friendly.
5. Take and process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes; practice portion control.
6. Check IDs to verify legal drinking age.
7. Detect guest intoxication and act accordingly, demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws.
8. Handle cash, make change, verify charges, record transactions, and ensure voucher accuracy.
9. Secure beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash; lock up and store appropriately.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to meet health standards.
11. Arrange bottles and glasses attractively in the bar area.
12. Wash and sterilize stemware.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
