Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) in Portland, OR is seeking a dedicated Catering Banquet Server to join our team. You’ll deliver memorable dining experiences by providing friendly, professional service at private events and club functions.

This part-time, on-site role requires setting up and breaking down service areas, coordinating with the Banquet Captain, and accommodating guest needs and dietary requests. You’ll gain access to club facilities and participate in ongoing training to enhance guest

Responsibilities

• Provide Exceptional Service during catering functions.
• Set up and take down food and beverage stations, guest tables, and event areas.
• Take food orders and relay to the kitchen; monitor distribution and dietary needs.
• Coordinate with Banquet Captain or Catering Manager for smooth event execution; review BEOs and suggest improvements.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment around catering areas and ensure proper storage after events.
• Be flexible and work across a variety of events and assignments.
• Attend trainings to stay updated on club offerings and guest interactions.

Are you ready to be a crucial part of unforgettable dining experiences at Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC)? We're on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our team as a Catering Banquet Server. As a key player in our culinary events, you'll elevate our members' and guests' experiences by delivering exceptional service with a smile. You’ll be the face of our culinary events, ensuring seamless service and unforgettable experiences for our members and guests.

This is a part-time and fully on-site position at our club in Portland, OR.

What You’ll Do

• Provide Exceptional Service: Deliver top-notch service during catering functions. Your friendly and professional approach will leave a lasting impression. Interact with members, guests, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner. Learn their names to personalize interactions and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Perform Set-Up and Take Down: Be the behind-the-scenes star by setting up food and beverage stations, guest tables, and event areas before guest arrival. After the event, ensure a swift and organized take-down.
• Execute Orders: Take food orders and relay them to the kitchen, ensuring they are filled promptly and accurately. Monitor food distribution and address special dietary needs.
• Coordinate Events: Collaborate with the Banquet Captain or Catering Manager to ensure smooth event execution. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and suggest improvements based on your experience.
• Adhere to Safety Standards: Maintain a safe and clean environment around the catering areas, ensuring equipment and supplies are in their proper locations after each event.
• Be Flexible: Work with the team on a variety of events, sometimes managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Continuously Learn: Stay informed about the club's offerings to answer guest questions. Attend training classes to enhance your skills and knowledge.

What You’ll Bring

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, working knowledge of food and beverage service operations, and prior experience in private dining or banquets.
• Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Certification: Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card and OLCC Service Permit.
• Physical Requirements & Availability: Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more, flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and ability to work on specific holidays and events, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Annual Meeting.
