Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join a busy aged care site in Ashwood. This entry-level role offers structured training and development pathways with opportunities to grow within our national contract catering business.

You'll prepare and serve meals, handle texture-modified options, maintain high food safety standards, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Roster is part-time with scheduled shifts on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation or customer service.
• Experience in contract catering or aged care is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Flu vaccination and National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads and sandwiches.
• Assist with meal service and maintain high presentation and service standards.
• Restock supplies before, during, and after service.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness, including dishwashing.
• Set tables and assist with plating and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
• Assist with meal service, ensuring a high standard of presentation and customer service
• Restock supplies before, during, and after service periods
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing duties
• Set tables and assist with plating and meal distribution

Desired Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service
• Experience in contract catering or aged care (desirable but not essential)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Current Flu Vaccination and National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
