Overview

The beautiful Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento overlooks the Sacramento River, near the Tower Bridge, Old Sacramento Waterfront District, and Golden 1 Center. We are seeking a Catering & Event Manager to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work for a Hilton-managed hotel in Sacramento.

Department Responsibilities

The Catering and Events Department manages contracted groups, social event food/beverage services, meeting room revenues, room block management, and supplier negotiations, aiming to ensure client satisfaction and exceed revenue goals.

Position Statement

The Catering and Event Manager coordinates event documentation with Sales, hotel departments, and clients to ensure high-quality service throughout all event phases. The role involves seamless transition from sales to service, upselling opportunities, and serving as the primary contact for event planners post-setup.

Key Responsibilities

1. Organize, plan, and prioritize duties with clear goals.
2. Communicate promptly with clients via phone, email, or in person.
3. Build and maintain client relationships to meet expectations.
4. Understand job systems, products, and processes.
5. Resolve conflicts, negotiate, and handle complaints.
6. Influence and sell to internal and external clients.
7. Make decisions through analysis and evaluation.
8. Ensure service quality with effective communication and coaching.
9. Participate in site inspections and support sales efforts.

Compensation

Pay scale: $23 - $32/hr DOE.
